ABOUT PROJECT: The Life Of Mann is a global collaboration in creative storytelling. The web comic tells the story of the main character - Mann. The interesting part, however, is that every 5 pages of the story will be continued by a different artist / writer. There are no restrictions to the style of drawing, direction of story, or way of presentation. The only condition is that story MUST CONTINUE and evolve at every stage. Characters can be included or excluded along the way, but the story must always revolve around Mann. The unique approach to storytelling enable every 5 pages to end with a climax, and every subsequent 5 pages to follow with the resulting plot twists. The project is created as an online graphic novel, so as to facilitate interaction between artists / writers and the viewers. This a very exciting project where the creativity and ideas of different creatives from across the globe come together. No one knows how the story will end. Each must continue from where the other has left off. The Life Of Mann is a collaborative project initiated by The Museum of Modern Fiction, led by Josef Lee. Through this project, he hopes to collaborate with creatives from around the world and in the process, see how a single idea can evolve when passed through various hands. The project was launched on the 1st of Dec 2006, and within a month, the official website has been accessed by more than 1,000 viewers. Many local and international creatives have professed their interest and already signed up as guest contributors. The Life Of Mann had since been selected as one of the projects to be supported by Synthesis 2006, an MDA (Media Development Authority of Singapore) funding scheme that supports innovative and creative digital productions that are Web-based. |
