Josef Lee is a designer/animator/illustrator based in Singapore. At times, he also doubles up as a compositor, art director, comic artist, writer, and occasional curator of his online art site.

Coming from a background in branding and advertising (a Diploma in Visual Communications from Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore), Josef expanded his skills into the field of motion with a Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Design from Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia. With more than eight years of experience in graphic design and branding, out of which five years focusing on motion graphics and broadcast design, Josef currently heads the design team at Lights & Shadows (LNS) as the Lead Broadcast Designer.

Till date, Josef has won a total of 15 local and international design awards, including the PROMAX&BDA World Gold and Silver awards in 2005 for his design works for MediacorpTV Channel 5 program promotions for Black Hawk Down and UEFA Champions’ League. Two of his design and illustration contributions to the 1819supermovement were chosen and printed as stickers in the 'Majulah Stickapurah Series 3 Stickers' Project and showcased in Design Festa Tokyo 2006. In August 2006, the Australian International School Singapore (AISS) invited Josef as a guest speaker for the AISS Careers Day to share his experiences as a designer / illustrator. Josef has also guest presented at Nanyang Polytechnic on the subject of 'Animation'.

An avid lover of fairy tales and fables, Josef illustrates and writes his own short stories under the label of The Musuem of Modern Fiction. Adam's Apple, a modern retelling of the story of God, Adam and Eve, was the first story launched and it was viewed by more than 30,000 within a week.

In Dec 2006, Josef launched The Life Of Mann, a global collaboration in creative storytelling. This independent project is an online graphic novel about the story of the central character - Mann. However, every 5 pages of the story will be continued by a different contributing artist / writer. Many local and international creatives have professed their interest for the project and already signed up as guest contributors. The Life Of Mann has since been selected as one of the projects to be supported by Synthesis 2006, an MDA (Media Development Authority of Singapore) funding scheme that supports innovative and creative digital productions that are Web-based.

Josef Lee is also the co-founder of the World's First and Only Asia Drawing Portal - startdrawing.org. Within a year from launch, the site has already been accessed by more than 500,000 viewers from around the world and is fast becoming a platform for promoting the best drawing talents from Asia. The site is viewed by more than 1,500 daily.

Josef currently lives in the north-eastern part of Singapore. He dreams of working with Scott Adams one day.
